We're looking for an experienced software engineer to lead the infrastructure efforts of secunet's Software Factory.

The Software Factory is secunet's innovation program, designed to provide the technical means to develop entirely new product classes. It consists of a team of highly motivated software engineers focused on cutting-edge, security-focused shared components, and a DevSecOps platform that supports the entire lifecycle of our products. This is a dynamic and evolving team, offering exciting challenges and opportunities for growth.

This position combines both software and systems engineering to build and run IT infrastructure. You will keep an eye on the capacity and performance of our systems, ensuring that they run reliably and have an appropriate uptime for our needs. We value fast and incremental improvements. Your software development efforts will focus on building infrastructure, optimizing systems, and eliminating work through automation.

• Maintain, extend, and continuously improve our infrastructure
• Ensure solid observability across all our services (visualization, alerting, log aggregation)
• Design, build, and own Nix build infrastructure
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners
• Liaison with secunet's internal IT to keep strategy aligned
• Document your work, both for users of the infrastructure as well as for fellow developers
• Ensure the security of our services using modern technologies

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Expertise in architecting and operating on-premises deployments
• Extensive experience with the NixOS ecosystem
• Know-how in Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform)
• Proven skills in contributing to open source
• Programming experience in Rust, Python, Go or similar languages
• Ability to execute autonomously in alignment with other teams in the broader Software Factory
